Well, I stayed home sick today with a cold. Mostly rested, did a little work, did a little flickr. Came across this, quite possibly the funniest thing I've seen on flickr. Enjoy.

I've been discovering some incredible artists and photographers on flickr. Terri Lynn is clearly a standout, and this is one of my favorites.

February 2005 playlist

Some of the February 2005 playlist is represented in an post, so this is a shorter post. I did want to get back on a regular schedule for this.

Highlight: Pullman's second novel in the His Dark Materials fantasy trilogy -- The Subtle Knife -- is great fun and is an impressive crescendo toward the last book in the series (which I can't wait to read). There's something about epic, sweeping adventure novels with children protagonists to which I really relate.

Runner-up: Dodgeball. Man, that's one funny movie.
  • Philip Pullman: The Subtle Knife (book)
  • Rough Guides: Rough Guide to California (book)
  • Bob Marley: Legend, the Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers (music)
  • Stephen Kovacevich: Brahms, Late Piano Music (music)
  • Joshua Bell/LSO: Chausson, Poeme (music)
  • Roger Norrington/LCP: Beethoven, Symphony No. 7 (music)
