I envy you. One of the many reasons I chose to live in Peru when I left the US in 1997 was to be in the land of the Inca. But when I visited Cusco, my body went limp within five minutes after alighting from the plane. Then my body got weaker as the day wore on.
I went to bed that night and spent 24 hours in bed. The third morning, I got the hell out of there and returned to Lima.
Next time, I will do it differently. I will go much more slowly and, hopefully, gut accustomed to the altitude.
Yeah, the altitude is pretty crazy. I'm glad I had some light Japanese food (instead of say, cuy or lomo saltado) my first night in Cusco.
That's really neat that you moved from US to Lima. Of all the places in the world, how did you pick Lima? Are you still there now?
